Lorna Drew: An award winning brand | Whiteroom Media

Lorna Drew is a special brand for Whiteroom Media, we got to design all the marketing materials including; branding, stationery, web design, promotional print, look books, packaging & exhibition stand design.

So what’s different about this brand? Lorna Drew Nursing Lingerie is a unique experience in the maternity lingerie market. Many brands in this sector focus on the idea of motherhood and the responsibilities involved in parenthood. Lorna Drew’s main focus is femininity, just because your a mother to be doesn’t mean you can’t feel sexy and look great. We had to build a brand that empowered women and celebrated pregnancy.

Incredible technical innovations in the functionality of garments and beautiful, sexy cuts and fabrics are the USP of the brand. In order to communicate this principle we created a luxurious feel to Lorna’s suite. Inspired by beautiful purple silks and natural skin tones we created swatches that reflected the expensive materials and higher price points of the products.

The logo icon is constructed from Lorna’s initials, the tail of the ‘L’ forms an elegant curving sweep which was inspired by the pregnant form in profile and the esoteric patterns created by Gustave Klimt. The lower case ‘d’ holds a single pomegranate seed; due to the pomegranates long standing connotations with fertility. Josefin was used throughout the logotype, it’s thin elegant form complementing the flowing shapes of the logo type and sans serif form reflecting a modern forward thinking brand.

Since it’s launch the brand has been going from strength to strength gaining floor space in major retailers such as Harrods, London 9 & Jojo Mama Bebe. As well as exhibiting on the at the Paris Lingerie Show catwalk last year. We were also very proud to find out that Lorna Drew Nursing Lingerie has won 4 awards in the past 12 months including the prestigious “Best Fashion Maternity Brand 2012”. Add to that three celebrity endorsements to boot with the lingerie currently being worn by Jessica Simpson & Una Healy from the Saturdays. The future is looking bright for Lorna Drew.
